Setting up an Outlook for Email

POP

  1. Click File
  2. Add Account
  3. Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types
  4. Select Internet E-mail
  5. Type
    1. Your Name
    2. E-mail Address
    3. Account Type: POP3
    4. Incoming Mail Server: mx1.sitehost.co.nz
    5. Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mx1.sitehost.co.nz
    6. User Name: Your Email Address
    7. Password: Mail box password
    8. Tick Remember Password & Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)
  6. Click More Settings
    1. Select General Tab and enter the reply to address to your email address
    2. Select Outgoing Server tab
      1. Tick My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
        1. Tick Use same settings as my incoming mail server
      2. Select Advanced tab
        1. Change the Incoming Server (POP3) port to 995
        2. Tick This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
        3. Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 465 and enable the SSL
  7. Change the settings for Leave copy of message on the server to 30 days
  8. Click OK
  9. Now Click Test Account Settings
  10. Click Next & then Finish

IMAP

  1. Click File
  2. Add Account
  3. Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types
  4. Select Internet E-mail
  5. Type
    1. Your Name
    2. E-mail Address
    3. Account Type: IMAP
    4. Incoming Mail Server: mx1.sitehost.co.nz
    5. Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mx1.sitehost.co.nz
    6. User Name: Your Email Address
    7. Password: Mail box password
    8. Tick Remember Password & Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)
  6. Click More Settings
    1. Select General Tab and enter the reply to address to your email address
    2. Select Outgoing Server tab
      1. Tick My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
        1. Check Use same settings as my incoming mail server
      2. Select Advanced tab
        1. Change the Incoming Server (POP3) port to 993 and enable the SSL
        2. Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 465 and enable the SSL
  7. Click OK
  8. Now Click Test Account Settings
  9. Click Next & then Finish
